Why Should You Drink Coffee for Weight Loss Instead of Using Fat Burners?

the best coffee to choose to drink for losing weight

Before I get more into why coffee is effective for weight loss, we should discuss the concept of using stimulants to lose weight.

To be honest, I am normally against stimulants and thermogenic fat burners. Coffee is in the same realm of product like these, but it is a natural option.

If coffee weren’t natural, I would not recommend it.

I rarely ever use synthetic energy boosters or fat burners myself, and coffee is by far the most caffeinated product I use.

If you want to lose weight, you should not first look to a hot pot of coffee. Instead, look at your diet and your training routine.

People who are avidly working out at least three or four times per week, and eat generally “healthy” meals, can look to drinking coffee to improve their weight loss potential.

If you are not eating well and you are not training, it will not help you!

Now that we have that part understood, let’s look more reasons to drink coffee for weight loss!

Antioxidants in Coffee

According to a study from the American Chemical Society, coffee is the number one source of antioxidants in America. It is not necessarily the most consumed source of antioxidant because of the high-levels of antioxidants in each cup, but mostly because Americans drink it so much!

However, there certainly are tons of antioxidants in coffee! Many people probably have heard about the benefits of antioxidants before, but do you know exactly what they do?

Antioxidants provide our bodies with many benefits, especially when it comes to fat burning and lowering our risk for many different diseases.

Antioxidants protect our body from disease and infection and allow our bodies to repair itself without issue.

“Oxidization” is the process of being worn out by oxygen- in simple terms. You can see this happen on a car or metal with rust, but the same process happens to our bodies as well.

Over the years, our bodies become worn out and more susceptible to various issues.

For instance, drinking a cup of coffee every day could lower your risk for type II diabetes by 23% on average!

Antioxidants have also been shown to improve our skin and help with fat fighting.

Other studies have shown that coffee can help to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease by 32%, and that coffee can help to increase our overall lifespan by up to 20%!

Antioxidants also help your muscles to recover efficiently and ensure that your metabolism is working at maximum capacity. Without enough antioxidants in your diet, your body will wear out far

If you have decided you want to drink a lot of coffee for the antioxidants, you need to be careful about your overall caffeine consumption. Decaffeinated coffee is not a very good option because the decaffeinating process is dangerous.

However, drinking your coffee at the right time is an ideal way to charge up your workouts, fuel your body with antioxidants, and increase your ability to lose weight.

If you are truly committed to leading a healthy lifestyle, you should strongly consider drinking coffee regularly for its antioxidant property and variety of health benefits.

Coffee Protects Against Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease

Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s are two of the most dangerous and fatal diseases in the world, and the number of people suffering from them tends to increase every year.

Unfortunately, there’s little you can do in many cases. But, a surprising fact is that sometimes something as simple as coffee can do quite a lot!

The reason for this is quite simple – coffee beans contain helpful micronutrients that have shown to make a major difference for people who have Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.

Moreover, coffee can ease the pain for these patients, which is more important than it seems at first.

The most important impact of drinking black coffee on Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s is that it lowers the risk for Parkinson’s- even in people with a strong genetic factor. A 2014 study conducted in Sweden proved the ability of coffee to decrease the likelihood of developing Parkinson’s, which brought joy to patients all over the world.

Coffee Increases Your Energy Levels

If you have a problem waking up in the morning even after you’ve left your bed and dragged your sleepy body to the kitchen, drinking a cup of coffee might be more helpful than you’ve hoped.

One cup of black coffee will help you clear your mind, focus on your tasks and forget about wanting to fall back asleep.

A morning cup of coffee immediately increases your energy level and boosts your concentration!

Coffee is so good for your energy because your bloodstream absorbs caffeine directly from it, and pushes it forward to your brain.

Meaning- each one of your brain cells gets its own/individual small cup of coffee every morning!

If you turn drinking coffee in a habit, your brain will get used to it and start improving your memory, mood, and energy level quicker than before!

Coffee Helps You Control Your Appetite

According to a study published in Obesity – A Research Journal,

A moderate coffee amount can effectively reduce energy intake in the following meal and in the total day compared to lower or no coffee intake in overweight/obese participants.”

Regardless of the amount of food they consume daily,  many people have a problem with their weight and can’t seem to do anything about it.

Even for people who eat proper food and go to the gym, often their weight doesn’t change, and they keep on getting heavier and heavier instead.

If you are in a situation similar to the one I explained above, coffee can help you!

Not only does coffee increase your daily energy and metabolism,  but it can also suppress your appetite and help you eat under control.

You shouldn’t replace your breakfast or lunch with coffee, but drinking it when you’re feeling an urge to eat something unhealthy can be beneficial in the long run.

True brewed black coffee is especially useful because it’s condensed and packed with caffeine, which is why more and more people prefer a delicious coffee pod over other types of coffee. This idea is tasty, exotic and intriguing, so try it as soon as you can and you’ll discover the wonders that come with it!

Coffee Helps You Burn Fat Efficiently

If you’re serious about losing weight, relying on coffee might be more beneficial than you’ve ever imagined!

According to a study published in Metabolism,

“Significant elevations in Free Fatty Acids (FFA) were observed after coffee and caffeine which usually reached their peak in 3 or 4 hours.”

Most people don’t know that caffeine is the base of most commercial supplements for burning fat, and it is a key ingredient in many weight loss processes.

However, you don’t have to stick to these supplements only. Don’t be afraid to use a natural source of caffeine- such as black coffee!

While drinking dozens of cups of coffee a day might harm your health, sticking to three or four could help you lose a ton of weight in a matter of weeks.

Coffee is one of the few natural fat-burning substances on the planet, mostly because caffeine boosts your metabolic rate and enables you to oxidize fat more efficiently (especially while training).

If you too are struggling with weight problems, try adding more coffee into your daily routine, and the results will probably amaze you!

Coffee Fights Stress and Depression

Working all day long yet still struggling to make ends meet can take a toll on your mental health, which is why stress and depression are among the most serious problems the modern generation has to fight.

However, there’s a great and simple way to fight these issues – coffee!

A study conducted in Harvard in 2011 shows a direct link between coffee consumption and a decreased risk of depression in women, and there are many more similar studies that connected this amazing beverage to the patients’ stress level and even suicidal tendencies.

So, whenever you’re feeling down or depressed, have a cup of coffee to boost your mood because that’s something we all need day after day.

Why Should You Only Drink Black Coffee for Weight Loss?

The main reason that you should choose to drink black coffee instead of another option is that latte’s, cappuccino’s, and even (my favorite) Turkish coffee often contains a lot of extra calories and unnecessary ingredients.

Adding extra sugar, sweeteners (such as in Starbuck’s or Dunkin Donut’s coffee drinks negates a lot of the health benefits that drinking coffee provides.

how to drink coffee to help you lose weight

Now that you know why you should be drinking coffee consistently, let’s learn about how to do it properly!

In my opinion, you should not exceed one or two cups of coffee per day.

Although you can probably handle three to five cups of coffee with quality results, there are risks to this much caffeine intake. One or two cups of coffee per day will supply you with a maximum of 200mg of caffeine.

Drinking too much caffeine can cause adrenal function issues, amongst other health problems. Too much caffeine can overly strain your heart, which is another reason not to exceed two cups of coffee in a day.

Another suggestion of mine on how to properly drink coffee to lose weight is to drink your coffee before noon each day. Drinking a cup directly after waking up is a great idea to energize your body, but try to have at least one cup of water previous to this.

Drinking coffee on an empty stomach first thing in the morning can be a bit of a shock to your body, but “warming up” with a glass of water is a great way to mitigate this blast of energy.

If you drink your coffee too much after noon, there is a chance the caffeine can interrupt your sleep. Regardless of what the coffee does for you, you will not lose weight if you are not sleeping enough.

If you decide to drink two cups of coffee in a day, having one cup before your workout is an excellent idea. The caffeine in the coffee will help you focus on your workout and increase your overall training capacity.

You can also try to add CBD Oil or Black Seed Oil to help you lose weight more efficiently.

In my opinion, this is the best way to use coffee for weight loss!

Another important consideration for those who do decide to make drinking coffee a part of their weight loss strategy is the type of coffee you’re drinking.

I’ll discuss this in greater detail later on in the article, but what you need to remember right now is that there’s a huge difference between drinking your favorite Starbucks Frappuccino, and brewing a good, old cup of coffee at home.

While the former is loaded with fat and sugar – and, obviously, calories – the latter has less than five calories per cup, provided that you skip the extras, such as milk and sugar.

I understand that it can be tempting to pick up your favorite caffeinated drink in the nearest coffee shop, instead of having to deal with the whole coffee-brewing process at home, but trust me on this:

When it comes to weight loss, getting yourself a small coffee maker is probably the best move you can make!

Due to their limited 4-cup capacity, these units won’t take up that much space on your kitchen counter, and they’re relatively affordable, too – they certainly cost less than what you’re used to spending in the coffee shop every month.

Most importantly, though, they give you complete control over what goes into your coffee cup, which brings me to my next point:

What is the Best Coffee for Weight Loss?

If you want to experience all the benefits of coffee for weight loss, you need to drink organic coffee only. Honestly, there is no other solution. I do have a cup of coffee from Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts when I am traveling, but it only happens rarely.

For many reasons, organic coffee is far superior for your health and weight loss goals.

“Conventional” coffee beans are treated with more heavy chemicals than nearly any other food on the planet, which is the primary reason you should not use them. Conventional coffee beans are soaked in synthetic fertilizers and much more!

If you drink from Starbucks or other low-quality coffee places, you are going to be ingesting way too many chemicals!

On the other hand, organic coffee beans are grown in natural conditions and retain much more nutritional value. These beans will have much more antioxidants, and the taste is much more enjoyable.

If you purchase organic coffee beans to help you lose weight, you are on the right track!

My all-time favorite organic coffee to drink is Puroast Low Acid Coffee.

If you have an espresso maker at home, organic espresso is a great option as well. I am more of an espresso fan myself, but I don’t believe too many others share my same passion!
