Fitness bloggers require a certain style when creating a blog, and there are many different reasons to begin fitness blogging. Starting a fitness blog in 2019 is challenging because there is more competition (more people creating fitness blogs), but it is also simple because you can have access to post on your blog form anywhere in the world.
Starting a Fitness Blog in 2020
Aside from people who are considering to start a fitness blog solely to make money from advertisements, the main reason people to motivate and interest potential customers and readers. Check out these simple tips that can help you begin a successful fitness blog in 2019!
Choose a Domain Name
Choosing a domain name is the first step to starting a blog, no matter what niche you are in.
You have to draw readers into your blog, especially in the beginning, when no one has heard of you. But, how do you do that?
You come up with a great domain name! If you have something that people respond to, they are more likely to take a closer look at what you have to offer.
I purchased my domain name from GoDaddy, but there are other places you can purchase domains as well.
Try to make your domain name topic relevant, or relevant in some way that can be “branded.” I titled my fitness blog “Adam Kemp Fitness” because as a professional athlete, I believe my name is a brand itself.
If you have a reputable name due to athletics or a certain accomplishment in the fitness industry, I suggest using your name as your brand. However, if you are relatively new and looking to establish yourself, use a domain and blog title which illustrates your goal of the blog. After users begin to read your blog more often, they will begin to associate your blog title and domain with useful fitness tips!

Use Your Passion to Choose Your Niche (or Micro-Niche)
When you begin a fitness blog, you need to always showcase your love of fitness to your readers. Not only does your passion need to be present in your blog, but you need to remind yourself often of why you are doing this.
It is not always easy to have a blog; it can be time consuming and difficult. However, it is much easier to keep going when you remember what it is all for.
If you have a passion for helping people lose weight, blog about simple and effective weight loss tips. If you like to try to help people build muscle and develop an aesthetic body, write about that!
Regardless, write about what you are passionate about- and not what you think is the best way to make money.
Use WordPress – Don’t Over-Complicate Things
Use WordPress. It is a simple site that you should be able to figure out in no time. There are also a number of different templates available (although you have to pay for a few of them), so you don’t even have to worry about design. You are only responsible for content, which makes things much easier.
If you decide not to use WordPress for some reason, go on YouTube to find a tutorial that will help design your site.
After a few months or year of fitness blogging you can decide to use a paid theme and hire an expensive website developer, but at first you should concentrate on creating content that readers will love to read. After you have written quality articles for a few months, you can begin to focus on User Experience on your fitness blog.
Building the Frame Of Your Website
I recommend WPEngine if you are starting out since they are the best in the business, and that’s who I use. The set up is very quick and easy, and WPEngine provides you guidelines.
Honestly, it really takes few minutes to get your website up and running. A point to note is that if you want to save from the web-hosting cost for WEngine, there are a few options.
For example, WPEngine offers you three months for free when you sign up for their service!
When you use WPEngine, they make sure they are with you in every step, whether you are a seasoned internet pro or just starting to build your first website. They operate 24 hours throughout the year with the aim of delivering you with any aspect of your hosting experience and exceed your expectations.
They also have the migration team that helps in transferring any existing content from your prior host and then configure in order to perform on their platform. They do transfer domain registration and manage your entire portfolio at one convenient place.
Add New Quality Content Regularly
Most people don’t stick with their blogs, and they stop posting new content after 12 weeks or so. Let your readers know that you aren’t going anywhere.
Put up posts frequently!
The success of your fitness blog begins and ends with a great content. If you write the content that your readers enjoy and value, people will start coming back for more.
Understand who your readers are, what they are passionate about and what they expect to get from your site. Some people will want hardcore strength training advice, while others will want to lose body fat. I recommend you specialize in one single niche, at least for the beginning, and become an expert at it.
Seek Out Followers from Social Media
There are so many things you can do to attract followers to your blog.
Make comments on other blogs that have something in common with yours, set up Facebook ads, get the word out about your blog on your social media sites, add likes to your blog, or e a guest blogger for someone else. Every little bit you do helps!
When I began this fitness blog I initially got a lot of attention off of Instagram. Although I don’t use Instagram as much anymore, I know it is still valuable when you are starting a fitness blog.
P.S. Please follow me on Instagram!
Here is an example of the type of content I post on m Instagram to attract followers:

A couple exercises from my off day workout today. • The first video is a combination of goblet squats (45kg-99lbs) with jump squats (3kg-6.5lbs). Combining a strength movement with a speed/power movement. • The second is single leg deadlifts with 32kg-70lbs kettlebells. This was literally the heaviest I’ve ever done this exercise in my life, so safe to say I’m pretty happy with today 👍🏼 • • • #FunctionalTraining #HealthIsWealth #Motivation #InstaFit #Fit #Fitspo #IGFitness #Fitness #Workout #Fitspiration #Active #FitnessMotivation #Gym #LifeStyle #Diet #GetFit #Exercise #Basketball #FIBA #DreamChasers #Poland #Polpharma
Another great way to promote your new fitness blog is to talk to people at your local gym about it. Whether you are giving diet advice or writing your Workout of the Day for others to see and use, the people you see at your local gym will probably be interested in what you ahve to say!
Don’t be afraid to ask people to checkout your new blog!
Having Your Site Stand Out With Tools and Apps
Your fitness site can stand out if you can also create fitness related tools and apps. These tools help to tell people how to get fit and generally make their fitness goals a lot easier. The use of an application gives your efforts for a healthier life the sense of a game.
Making extra tool costs money, no one can disagree with this, but if you have the opportunity to create one it can be very beneficial!
Ensure The Website Allows Two-Way Communication
If you want to create a website in the health and fitness niche, you are supposed to let people interact with you. The reason as to why is to get a maximum amount of information about your services.
