Coffee, is great (when not over consumed); I think we all know this by the time we get through half a semester in college. It is a magic bean that keeps us running, and it is extremely healthy for us! However, there are a few issues with the consumption of traditional hot coffee.
Luckily, cold brew (or even more specifically, cold drip) coffee totes a wide-range of benefits that makes it a perfect replacement for those who cannot tolerate the traditional hot coffee we so often drink!
If you would like to find cold-drip brewers, or learn how to make your own; you can easily find excellent information online! Personally, I love this guide, here!
For some people, regular coffee can be a little too much.
The caffeine itself might make you a little jittery, taking away some of the other lovely benefits.
For others, hot coffee might be a little irritating on your stomach.
Reasons to Switch to Cold-Drip Coffee
Coffee consumption has been proven to increase the rate of digestion in your stomach, as well as to cause high levels of acid in the stomach itself. For those of you who battle with heart burn or other issues caused by an acidic stomach, traditional hot coffee just might not work for you.
Another drawback of hot coffee is the amount of “cafestol” released through the extraction of a traditional heating process. Essentially, the higher the heat necessary for extraction, the more of this harmful substance is released.
Cafestol has the ability to raise your levels of cholesterol overtime. Cold drip brew coffee is the absolute best way to avoid cafestol ingestion, as cafestol is only seen in negligible amounts in cold-brewed coffee!
Lastly, hot coffee only is “fresh” the amount of time that it is hot! This can only be probably a maximum of 30 minutes or so, not very “sustainable” overall! Hot-coffee is great, but it’s not perfect!
Especially for those looking to take advantage of the health benefits of coffee, but cannot handle the issues pertaining to hot-coffee; cold drip coffee is an excellent replacement!
In the “Coffee Community,” cold brew coffee has received a large amount of attention lately as it has emerged in American and Western society.
Cold brew coffee is commonly known as Dutch coffee due to its origination in The Netherlands, and it is packed with all the benefits of our hot coffee; without some of the negative side effects!
Due to the extraction process, the coffee which is brewed is much “cleaner” overall, and harmful components are not released in to the coffee you are drinking.
If you have never tried cold-brewed coffee, or any other low-acid coffee; you will taste and feel the difference immediately!
Acid levels in your coffee correlate highly to the bad “jittery” feeling from drinking too much coffee (believe me), so for those who are sensitive to caffeine overall, cold drip coffee is an excellent choice!
Especially for those who are looking to weight train or perform any physical activity after drinking your coffee, give cold-drip coffee a chance!
Cold-drip coffee is proven to have less impact on your stomach, while also providing you with antioxidants, moderate amounts of caffeine, and other benefits to push you through your workouts!
Even compared to a “pre-workout” or any other form of caffeine, cold-drip coffee has some incomparable benefits!
If you are a coffee-lover, and are yet to try Dutch-style coffee, you absolutely should make your way to doing so as quick as possible!
Not only can a cup of cold-brewed coffee last easily for up to 2 weeks (although I generally drink mine much faster than this), but it has an excellent amount of unique benefits that will help you power through your days; without many of the common-negative side effects from drinking our traditional hot coffee!
One way in which you can amplify the benefits of your cold-drip coffee even more, is by making yourself a nice cup of bulletproof coffee.
Bulletproof coffee is one of the best and healthiest ways to start your morning, and works tremendously with cold-drip coffee as well!
