Eating about 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of chocolate daily has been linked with lower risks of stroke, and heart disease.  This was reported in 2015 by scientists in the Journal Heart.

That amount of chocolate is the equivalent of two Hershey bars, 22 Hershey’s Kisses, or two bags of M&M’s.

The researchers concluded in their paper that there does not appear to be any evidence to suggest that chocolate should be avoided by those who are concerned about cardiovascular risk.

A new study in to the benefits of milk chocolate, based on a meta-analysis of eight previously published studies which involved about 158,000 people; determined that people who regularly ate chocolate had up to an 11 percent lower risk of developing cardiovascular disease, and a 23 percent lower risk of having a stroke when compared with non-chocolate eaters.
