Most men and women should drink two liters of water a day, or more. With the amount of water, we lose through urine, exhaled air, and intestinal contents; we get rid of an average of about 2.5 liters per day. On average, we take about 20% of our daily water needs through food; the remaining amount we have to provide ourselves in the form of liquids.
Undoubtedly, it is less beneficial for our health to obtain water from juices or sugary drinks than it is ordinary clean water.
Some of us buy bottled mineral water, but it is much cheaper and more convenient to drink it straight from the tap.
Assuming you live in an area where tap water is clean and drinkable, drinking tap water is an excellent idea for many reasons.
Below are six reasons why you should drink tap water!
1.) Tap Water is Cheap
Instead of spending money on bottled water, we can save by drinking the one that flows from your tap.
In Poland, water supplied by the waterworks is safe to drink; it meets all Polish standards. It happens, however, that its quality is not satisfactory – it can be mechanically contaminated, too hard or excessively chlorinated.
The solution can be a relatively inexpensive set of under sink filters that will cleanse your water from the quality of the substance that spoils it.
If we draw water from our own sources, it may happen that it will not meet the standards. Then we have to apply technologies that will make it safe to use.
2.) Drinking Tap Water is Better for the Environment
By buying bottled water, we contribute to the production of environmentally harmful plastic waste. You can always have water from your own tap in a nice, colorful, reusable water bottle.

As already mentioned above, drinking water is essential for our health.

If we do not drink enough during the day, we will feel weary, weaker, and our head may stress out. Water contains minerals that are very important for the body’s functioning.
Contrary to common opinion – they do not occur only in mineral water. Their optimal amount can also be found in an ordinary tap.
Drinking extra water should especially be remembered by people who lead a sports lifestyle and physically working. They lose more water during the day than people who are not very active.

We do not have to go to the store; we do not even have to leave the house. Tap water is always at hand!
We can quench thirst at any moment with tap water. When choosing a trip or a walk, it is worth taking it with you in a water bottle. Thanks to this, we will not have to look for a store or restaurant when we want to drink.

Good news for people on a diet – there is a way to limit the number of calories in your diet painlessly.
It is enough to replace sweet juices and drinks with water, which we can draw straight from the tap.
Assuming that the liquids we drink are sweetened with about two teaspoons of sugar (40 kcal) per one glass, and a day we drink 5 glasses – if we exchange them for regular filtered tap water, we will consume 200 kcal less!
This will help us lose 1 kg of weight per month without additional dietary restrictions.

6.) Tap Water Can Taste Great Too!
Tap water can be excellent in taste. It’s enough to treat it properly.
If the water from our tap has an unsatisfactory taste, usually the reason for this state of affairs is chlorine, sometimes used by suppliers to treat it. If we want to eliminate this problem, we should use a filter with an activated carbon cartridge.
