Born in Flushing, Queens, and attending the famed Christ the King High School, T.J. Curry was never looked at to be the “next great player” from New York City; or anything close to that even. However, T.J. Curry is now a professional basketball player-playing in an excellent league filled with former NBA players and tremendous talent all-around.
Trust the Process. Yes, it is a clothing company that he collaborated on creating, but it is so much more than that.
Growing up in New York City would be a challenge for anyone. Between constant ethnic tension with the people he grew up around, as well as a lack of belief and support in him from the “basketball people,” it was not easy for T.J. to believe he could play on his own high school team-let alone professionally.
Regardless: Trust the Process.
It is something we all need to do, and it is something that T.J. really lives.
Fast forward to college, the part where I met T.J. T.J. Curry did not come to Marist College as the “leanest” player I had ever seen, but this did not last long. Between his freshman and sophomore years at Marist, T.J. completed one of the most impressive transformations I have ever personally seen. I watched step-by-step as T.J. literally transformed his body through a summer of HARD WORD, by losing over 25lbs and shaping a SHREDDED physique. This alone would have been enough of a life accomplishment, but it was only just one part of the Process.
T.J. went on to have an excellent career at Marist College, enough so that he was drafted by and then signed to Leones de Ponce (the Lions of Ponce), a team in the “Baloncesto Superior Nacional” (BSN)- the 1st division of Puerto Rican basketball. A respected league that has produced future NBA players, and is played in by former NBA players.
Before leaving for his first season in Ponce however, T.J. needed to undergo his 2nd physical transformation, this time with a more focused, structured, training AND diet plan. To make this possible T.J. became actively involved with AdvoCare, a company which produces top of the line dietary supplements. As you can see below, the “24-Day Challenge” WORKS!
According to T.J., AdvoCare can, and will, help you with your level of fitness regardless of goal. Whether you are trying to gain weight, lose weight, stay fit how you are now, or just improve your overall health, AdvoCare is for you! Since starting to use AdvoCare T.J. has lost 16lbs while also maintaining the strength and conditioning level necessary for professional basketball, a nearly impossible task!
The “24-day challenge” is sectioned in to 2 parts. The first 10 days being a “cleansing” program, focusing on utilizing fibrous supplements to rid your body of all the poisons (alcohol, processed sugar, toxins) it collects on a daily basis. The last 14 days are considered to be the “max phase.” After cleaning your body through the first 10 days, your body is now ready to shed legitimate fat away easier and more efficiently than ever. Of course, this is not without a consistent diet and hard training, but now your body has the energetic capacity to actually complete workouts and not crave poor foods!
For everyone out there looking at challenges or difficulties in life, T.J. has a few simple messages for all of you.
- Never let anybody tell you what you can or can’t do. If he let people dictate his own life at any time through this point, he wouldn’t have made it this far.
- Trust the Process. There has not been a moment in his career when T.J. hasn’t been doubted about his ability as a player, and his ability advance in his career as a basketball player.
At this point, T.J. has already been resigned to Ponce for another season, and stated himself that he cannot wait to play there again due to the fanatical fans and support he receives from the community while being there. T.J. is still using AdvoCare to maintain optimal conditioning levels and training capacity for the summer, as he continues to push further forward in his career than anyone could have expected.
Not only is T.J. achieving his dreams currently, but he is also making new dreams in the process. T.J. is working on expanding the Trust the Process brand throughout the country, along with telling his story and proving to people that anything you desire to achieve is doable with the right amount of hard work and determination. If you are looking to wear the clothes of a brand that you actually relate with, look to Trust the Process.
