If you just went for your annual physical and your doctor told you that you have platelet or thrombocyte issues, you probably have no idea what he was referencing. Unfortunately, blood platelets and thrombocytes are out of the realm of knowledge for most people.
However, having issues with your blood platelets or thrombocytes can be serious if left untreated.
Want to learn more about easy and natural ways to deal with these issues?
Keep reading below!
What are Platelets and Thrombocytes?
Platelets are cells in the bloodstream that help protect the body against an excessive loss of blood when you sustain an injury.
These platelet cells look like plates when they are in their “non-active” state.
If you do happen to sustain a bodily wound or injury, these platelet cells move towards the site, bind damaged blood vessels, and form a blood clot.
When they are in their “active” state, platelets develop a type of tentacles. Normally, a healthy human body should have a range of 150000-450000 platelets per mL of blood.
When the blood-platelet count drops below its normal range, the condition is called thrombocytopenia.
Having a low platelet count in the blood is generally a symptom of a drastic health change. If you have drastically altered your diet, sustained a major injury, or contracted a virus or sickness- you are far more prone to developing these issues.
Thrombocytes are small blood components produced in the bone marrow, and they play a key role in blood clotting.
The main function of these blood components is to stop the bleeding of damaged blood vessels. In mammals, thrombocytes are “anucleated” cell fragments called platelets.
Simply put, thrombocytes are more commonly known as platelets; which we discussed earlier.
How to Improve Your Blood Platelet/ Thrombocyte Count?
If you want to improve your blood platelet count, you can easily do this by living a holistic and healthy lifestyle.
Such as many other bodily health issues, living healthier, in general, is the key to improving your condition!
Eating a diet which is high in lean protein, fruits, and vegetables will dramatically help you improve the number of blood platelets your body contains.
Along with this, cutting out excessive alcohol and refined sugars will naturally help your body to function better, and improve your blood platelet count as well.
There is a long traditional history of red wine being used (in moderation) to help improve people’s blood overall.
Although it is not scientifically backed, many people believe you can drink red wine in moderation as a substitute for other alcohols if you are dealing with thrombocyte issues.
Lastly, if you are using many NSAIDs such as Aleve and Tylenol to treat inflammation and pain, you should switch to natural anti-inflammation medicines immediately.
According to a study published in The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology,
“Aspirin and non-aspirin non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) inhibit platelet cyclooxygenase, thereby blocking the formation of thromboxane A2. These drugs produce a systemic bleeding tendency by impairing thromboxane‐dependent platelet aggregation and consequently prolonging the bleeding time.”
Turmeric and fish oil are excellent natural anti-inflammatory medicines which can help a wide range of health issues and improve your health in the long run, but they are not as useful in situations when you need rapid relief.
If you are looking for a powerful anti-inflammatory medicine that is a little less known, cannabidiol (CBD) is an excellent choice!
CBD Oil (Cannabidiol) and Your Blood Platelet Count
Although there is not any definitive research on the subject yet, there are many reasons that CBD oil is an excellent product for people with blood platelet or thrombocyte issues.
For those of you who have not heard about the benefits of CBD hemp oil yet, it is an all-natural derivative of the cannabis plant. Many people use CBD oil to treat chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and other health problems. I use it to manage injuries and chronic pain I have sustained through my basketball career, as well as to help manage my Tourette’s Syndrome.
One of the major roles of cannabis compounds such as CBD (cannabidiol) is that it helps regulate your Endocannabinoid system and return your body to a state of homeostasis. When your body returns to balance (homeostasis), your platelet issues will disappear!
Along with improving the internal balance of your body, the main benefit of CBD oil for people with platelet or thrombocyte issues is that it can keep you away from NSAIDs. NSAIDs are very commonly used in the Western society, but they can have lasting negative impacts on your body.
Cannabidiol products are safe and effective for many people, and they are a truly effective for keeping people away from harmful NSAIDs!
