Manhattan MedSpa – Doctors on Staff
At Manhattan MedSpa, there are two doctors and a medical aesthetician you might encounter. They are:
- Artur Ivchenko, M.D.
- David A. Halio M.D.
- Olga Mayersdorf – Medical Aesthetician
As a medical aesthetician, Olga Mayersdorf has been practicing aesthetics since 2013. In the Manhattan MedSpa office, she performs procedures such as:
- Laser Hair Removal
- Radio Frequency Skin Tightening
- Radio Frequency Skin Resurfacing
- Microneedling with RF
I don’t have any information on Doctor Halio, however, Dr. Artur Ivchenko is the founder of Manhattan MedSpa and he finished his medical school training at Ross University. He attended SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn N.Y. for his general surgery residency, and he also previously worked as a “critical care physician” at the Coney Island Hospital.
According to their website, Dr. Ivchenko planned on specializing in plastic surgery at the beginning of his general surgery career.
However, after he realized that you could obtain similar or superior aesthetic results with non-invasive methods, he decided on opening his medical spa (Manhattan MedSpa).
Dr. Ivchenko is an experienced and licensed physician in the state of New York, who offers a variety of noninvasive aesthetic procedures which are meant to make you feel natural, confident, and satisfied with how you look!
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy at Manhattan MedSpa
Although there are a ton of procedures that you can use at the Manhattan MedSpa, I would only like to discuss a couple which I believe are the most interesting!
PRP therapy is common among athletes for various injuries, and it is a unique but completely natural procedure which you can use for your hair or face.
The Manhattan Medical Spa offers two different types of PRP therapy, which are:
- Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy – An Innovative Solution to Hair Loss
- Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial – the Non-Surgical Alternative to Facelift
For those of you who have never heard of PRP therapy before, platelet rich plasma therapy utilizes a concentrate of “platelet rich plasma” protein, which is obtained by putting some of your whole blood into a centrifuge. After that, the concentrate is injected into the desired area of your body.
Although I have never used PRP therapy, I still have a long-term plan to use it for repairing a torn ligament in my left shoulder, as well as aiding a few other past injuries. According to a research study published in Arthritis Research & Therapy,
“The relative ease of preparation, applicability in the clinical setting, favorable safety profile and possible beneficial outcome make PRP a promising therapeutic approach for future regenerative treatments.”
PRP Therapy for Hair Loss
PRP therapy is useful for hair loss because the platelet rich plasma can nourish and stimulate the stem cells which live in your hair follicles. When the PRP concentrate is injected, it stimulates hair follicles to grow naturally.
It is a great treatment option for both men and women, and it is probably most effective for those who have alopecia.
Although the treatment might be a bit painful, Manhattan MedSpa utilizes a numbing cream to prevent some of the pain. I have had a few former teammates who have used PRP therapy in season, and from seeing their experience I can say that there is a slight amount of pain from the procedure, but it doesn’t stay long.
In general, the side effects for this procedure are minimal, and the main side effects you can look out for are mild redness and swelling for 1-2 days following the treatment!
PRP Therapy Facial
The idea of having a face lift procedure is scary for many people, which is why Manhattan MedSpa offers PRP facials as a minimally invasive and non-surgical alternative!
PRP therapy can make your skin look years younger, since the PRP concentrate is full of nutrients which stimulate the regeneration of cells within the skin, and encourage the production of collagen.
Due to the increased collage production caused by the PRP therapy, you will notice a softening of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on your face, which were caused by sun exposure, aging, and common facial expressions.
Similar to other types of PRP therapy, little to know side effects have ever been reported.
If you are looking for minimally-invasive and non-surgical beauty treatments, Manhattan MedSpa is a reputable place you can go in the New York area. They offer a wide variety of options for whatever you are looking to accomplish, and there is a strong chance they can provide an option you did not even know existed!
