Can CBD Increase Cravings or Cause Weight Gain?

CBD oil is a hemp-derived oil high in CBD (cannabidiol), and low in THC.

While this oil comes from the same plant as medical marijuana products, the body doesn’t react to this oil in the same way as it does with marijuana.

The difference is that cannabidiol is found more prevalently in hemp, while THC is found more in marijuana.

Both of these plants come from the cannabis plant, although the type of cannabinoids found on them is vastly different.

While marijuana is known for increasing appetite and cravings, CBD can actually help people lose weight!

What is CBD Oil?

As I wrote before, CBD oil is derived from a type of hemp with limited quantities of tetrahydrocannabinol.

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is responsible for the psychoactive effects of marijuana, and it is the main reason that marijuana is illegal.

This means that CBD users don’t experience a high, making this oil a legal and effective alternative.

You can even give CBD oil to your pets!

Unlike “marijuana” which is illegal throughout most of the world, CBD is legal almost everywhere.

You can even buy it on Amazon!

CBD oil is quickly growing in popularity because it is a safe and effective treatment options for a wide range of health issues.

However, the question remains, will it help you lose weight?

CBD Oil and Metabolism

CBD oil interacts with the Endocannabinoid system, a series of receptor sites located in the immune system, the nervous system, and the brain.

Because of this, CBD can impact everything from sleep, to immune response, to mood.

Most notably, many people use CBD as a means of controlling anxiety and depression.

Along with this , CBD also has an impact on appetite.

The cannabis network that CBD interacts with in the body is comprised of fatty acid-based chemicals, metabolic enzymes, and receptors. When people ingest CBD, it interacts with this system by decreasing fat cell generation, boosting mitochondrial activity, and increase the breakdown of fat.

Many people trying to lose weight have found that CBD oil helps to maximize their results.

This is due to a process known as “fat browning.” When someone ingests CBD, the body allows the CBD to turn white adipose tissue, which stores energy, into brown adipose tissue, which burns energy.

This process may also boost the body’s glucose tolerance, thus protecting people against diabetes and other metabolic conditions. This means that CBD can have a legitimate impact on metabolism and the body’s caloric storage.

CBD and Toxins

Fat browning isn’t the only way CBD impacts weight. One of the reasons the body stores fat in the first place is to protect the organs from damaging toxins.

CBD oil helps rid the body of harmful toxins, thus getting rid of one of the main reasons the body accumulates fat.

CBD Oil and Cravings

Most CBD users don’t experience the cravings associated with medical marijuana.

This is because THC is mostly responsible for the cravings; it has psychoactive side effects like the munchies. Because CBD oil only contains trace amounts of THC, few people experience cravings while taking it.

Here are a couple exercises from my workout today. I hope you can notice the one small difference I made on these Bulgarian Split squats. Instead of using a flat bench to place my rear foot, I used a bench with a slight incline. Doing so makes the ankle flexibility a bit easier and changes the stress of the movement a little different. If your ankles are tight and Bulgarian Split Squats are uncomfortable for you, give it a try!

The 2nd exercise is a core movement that I added some weight too. The “pull-over” movement (14kg Kettlebell) adds some more muscles into the movement making it a bit more challenging.
